Recycle your aluminum cans

Recycle your newspapers

Buy products with high-recycled content
These use substantially less energy and water to produce than new products.
Use your own cup/mug/bottle
Collectively, using refillable cups everyday for coffee and water can help save millions of pounds of trash from ending up in landfills.
Patronize thrift stores
Shop at, and donate to, thrift stores and second hand stores.
Use rechargeable batteries
Rechargeable batteries generally last 20–30 times longer than disposable batteries.
Buy reusable products
Purchase and use reusable products vs. disposable razors, lighters, pens, or foam/paper plates or cups.
Help charities and others
Donate items you no longer want, or list them for sale in your local or online classifieds (i.e. Craigslist and eBay) rather than throwing them out.
